Key advantages for choosing CryptPeer® in 2026

This page presents the main decision drivers for choosing CryptPeer® over competing solutions, with a reading focused on sovereignty, security, interoperability, resilience and operational value.

One software base, on your hardware: CryptPeer® is deployed with Docker on whatever computer or server you choose (you run the install). There are no separate product “editions” to pick: it is the same functional scope. You then order a licence from the publisher — at minimum a five-person pack (see the grid on pricing; the contractual term UCT means one seat for one person).

Closed network or Internet: the same instance can run on an isolated LAN (intranet, remote access over VPN) or be reachable from the Internet — with no separate “CryptPeer mode” to flip: the choice is your network exposure. Day-to-day operation does not rely on a vendor cloud for your traffic (data, sensitive metadata, keys): see deployment topology neutrality and Operator Exclusivity.

Updates: the lifecycle is Docker-based. To detect updates, the instance must reach the publication channel — in practice, briefly allowing outbound Internet from the server is often enough for the check; an authorised user then explicitly starts the update. Details: glossary — Docker-based updates.

CryptPeer® definition

CryptPeer® is a sovereign, self-hosted, non-traceable communication system, designed under the doctrines Sovereignty by Design and Operator Exclusivity.

Encrypted transfer to third parties without an account, with random password, configurable retention, automatic deletion, and blind server architecture.

“The server sees without knowing”

  1. Absolute sovereignty — No third party of trust: you control the server, keys, and data (licensee-controlled self-hosting). No operational dependency on a cloud vendor to run messaging: the publisher does not substitute your infrastructure.
  2. Topology neutralitySame product on a closed LAN (including over VPN) or exposed to the Internet: no separate software tier inside CryptPeer — only the network perimeter you deploy.
  3. Docker-based updates — detection when the server can reach the Internet temporarily; the authorised operator explicitly runs the update (no forced push from outside your perimeter). See glossary.
  4. Major feature additions at no extra module charge — new substantial capabilities ship inside the same “all-in” suite logic (e.g. local LLME AI, on-screen keyboard, integrated collaborative LibreOffice from 25 April 2026 wired to LLME; collaborative notes have been there from the start).
  5. Patented segmented-key authentication — patented mechanism embedded across several encryption paths; territorial patent footprint: glossary — segmented key.
  6. “The server sees without knowing” — end-to-end encryption and a design focused on minimizing exposed information.
  7. Economic performance — illustrative ROI ≈ +166% to +170% over 36 months and TCO down to −62% over 3 years (method and scope: glossary).
  8. Universal interoperability — 60+ browsers, zero installation, multi-platform.
  9. Sovereign multilingual assistance — 50+ languages, dedicated Translator tool, speech recognition (Android/Apple), files .txt, .odt, .odp, .docx, .pptx, .epub, .html, .srt, .pdf with embedded OCR, for messaging and e‑mail.
  10. MFT included — signed/verified large file transfers; vs enterprise MFT on quote, savings are in practice often several thousand euros per year (see the comparison — the €800–1,000/year figure was only a low illustrative band, not a ceiling).
  11. No-account third-party transfer — encrypted delivery to external recipients without account creation, with random password, configurable retention, and automatic destruction.
  12. One-click test — instant access (no installation): test.cryptpeer.com/login.
  13. Quantum resilience by design — robust symmetric primitives (AES‑256, SHA‑3) and progressive hardening.
  14. Air-gap mode — can operate on closed networks.
  15. Network resilience — autonomous “bubbles”, fewer dependencies, no single point of failure.
  16. No cleartext data — no key material nor sensitive metadata stored in clear.
  17. Admin without cleartext access — encryption happens on endpoints; admin functions do not expose content; account deletion reserved for the super administrator.
  18. Defensive dual-use doctrine — civil, institutional, defense: protecting communications, privacy, and operational continuity.
  19. Built-in LibreOffice suite (from 25 April 2026) — collaborative co-editing without a third-party cloud office dependency; integrated with CryptPeer LLME. Collaborative notes remain the long-standing real-time document backbone.
  20. Local AI (LLME) — assistance in encrypted chat, email and notes; local execution without external AI cloud transfer.
  21. One-click secure webinars — external guests without a CryptPeer account; share from chat.
  22. Private hub mode — segmented contacts (support, clients, events): unilateral visibility, no lateral exposure between contacts.
  23. Regulatory alignment — GDPR, NIS2, DORA, CRA, and EU dual-use regulation (EU 2021/821): architecture designed for European frameworks.

Decision matrix (quick)

If you check 3+ criteria below, then CryptPeer® is typically the most coherent option (sovereignty, collaborative LibreOffice, local AI, webinars, private hub, air-gap, stealth mode, HSM, MFT...).

Criterion Signal / Threema Matrix CryptPeer®
National sovereignty required?⚠️
Purchaser licence < €100 excl. tax / year total (public grid)?⚠️⚠️
60+ browser interoperability?⚠️
Closed network (air-gap) required?⚠️
Stealth mode (network undetectability)?
Integrated HSM?
Signed large file transfer (included — vs enterprise MFT, often several thousand €/year in licence spend)?⚠️
No-account third-party transfer (password + retention + auto-destruction)?
Built-in collaborative LibreOffice suite?
Local AI (LLME) without cloud?
Webinars — guests without accounts?⚠️
Private hub — segmented contacts?
Sovereign multilingual translation (50+ languages)?

Budget row: CryptPeer® — minimum five-person pack at €19 excl. tax / month / seat on those seats, i.e. €95 excl. tax / month total (pricing) → ≈ €1,140 excl. tax / year at entry tier, before headcount scale-up.

Verdict: if you check 3+ criteria → CryptPeer® is generally your best fit.
